Troubleshooting notifications

Not getting alerts? Work through this checklist to fix common notification issues.

Push notification checklist

1. Is SeatDrop installed? Check if SeatDrop appears on your home screen. If not, install it.

2. Are notifications allowed? Check your device's notification settings. SeatDrop needs permission to send alerts. See Turn on notifications for step-by-step instructions.

3. Is Do Not Disturb off? DND mode silences notifications. Turn it off or add SeatDrop as an exception.

4. Is the alert still active? Check the My Alerts page. If the showtime has passed, the alert has expired. Alerts stop monitoring after the showtime date.

5. Has the trigger happened yet? For seat alerts, SeatDrop only notifies you when a seat changes from taken to available — if no one cancels, there's nothing to alert about. For ticket drop alerts, you'll be notified when tickets actually go on sale at your theatre.

6. Not sure whether notifications are actually working? Test them. On the My Alerts page, tap Test on the notifications row. SeatDrop sends a real notification and then waits for your device to confirm it arrived — you'll see Delivered ✓ only if it genuinely reached you. If it reports that it didn't reach this device, work through step 7.

7. Did you reinstall SeatDrop, or has it simply gone quiet? Deleting and reinstalling SeatDrop gives your device a brand-new notification address. On iPhone the old address can keep looking healthy to us long after it has stopped working, so alerts quietly stop arriving even though everything still reads Enabled on this device. Reinstalling again won't fix it — each reinstall creates yet another address.

The fastest fix, if you have a recovery email linked: open the Profile tab, tap Reconnect this device, and enter the code we email you. That points your existing alerts at your current install straight away — you keep your SeatDrop code and every alert on it.

No email linked? Open My Alerts and tap Enable on the notifications row. If your old device hasn't opened SeatDrop in the last few days, this reconnects on the spot. If it has been used recently we'll hold off and notify that device instead, in case someone else is trying to move your alerts — wait a few days without opening SeatDrop there and try again, or link an email under Add email to skip the wait entirely.

SMS checklist

SMS is being retired — if you're troubleshooting an SMS alert, the fastest fix is usually to switch it to push instead. On the mobile app, open My Alerts, tap the alert's menu, and choose Switch to Push.

1. Did you enter the correct phone number? Double-check the number on your alert in the My Alerts page.

2. Are you receiving other texts? If your phone isn't receiving any texts, the issue is with your carrier, not SeatDrop.
